sadaf

Sadaf is a qualified Mechanical Engineer by her qualifications and a Building Energy Professional by profession. She holds a B.Tech and M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. In addition to that she has a one semester certificate course in ’Advance Mechanics and system Design’, from University of François Rabelais, Ecole Polytechnic, Tours, France. She is Indian Green Building Council certified Accredited professional(IGBC AP) and has acquired skills to develop work in the fields of Energy Efficient Buildings, Green Building Ratings and Certifications from her early caree stage.

She has worked on several prestigious projects with activities ranging from Green Building Design, Certification, Energy Simulation, and Daylighting Simulation and Analysis. She is proficient user of various modelling and simulation tools such as IES -VE, IDA ICE, E-quest, Radiance, AutoCAD, and Ecotect.

In 2013, She received a Project Fellowship award to conduc scientific research at the School of Engineering “Aalto University “, Finland to work on ’Building energy performance analysis and thermal comfort analysis of the occupants working as a Project Researcher. She has published papers in peer reviewed international conferences and Journals.

She moved to Ireland in 2016 to join the IRUSE group under the supervison of Dr. Marcus M. Keane. She has been awarded the prestigious COEI (College of Engineering and informatics) fellowship.

Her research will focus in reducing the energy gap, focusing on the operation phase of buildings and on proposing a new paradigm for the development of energy management platforms in buildings, integrating existing expertise and resources.

This research investigates the barriers and risks in ESCOs and the EPC projects and would propose deep retrofitting solutions , which will help in know how decision making process for ESCOs , Building certification programs ( Eg. LEED , BREAM etc). The proposed strategies will be applied on real-life applications from the HIT2GAP and INDIGO projects to demonstrate the effectiveness of the models and compare the designed (simulated) and the real energy performance of each pilot project.

Research interests

  • building Performance and Optimization Analysis;
  • whole Building Energy Simulation;
  • modelling and Simulation of Thermal Comfort.
